Pre-School Programs
Morning Session:
Ages 3 - 6 years, September - July
Monday - Friday, 9am to 12pm
$285 per month
Upon arrival at the school, children have creative Play Time for 45 minutes at the various art and activity stations set up indoors and outdoors. Afterwards a schedule of activities begins, including Circle Time, Arts and Crafts, Educational Projects, and Music and Dance classes. A healthy snack is served at the end of each Morning Session, prepared by parents. Morning Session students have the option of staying through the Afternoon Sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until 3pm for an additional $15 per day.
Pre-K Program:
This program is offered to children in the Morning Session the year before they enter kindergarten. Children in the Pre-K program meet twice weekly with the teachers in a classroom setting for academic and creative lessons that prepare them for the Kindergarten experience. There is no additional charge for this program, as it is integrated into the Morning program.
Summers at Canyon:
An extension of the Morning and afternoon sessions, from mid-June through July. Children also participate in the summer program at the Hollywood Bowl every Wednesday and travel to the beach every Friday. Toddlers are incorporated into the mornings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, offering an enriching social experience as younger kids play with and learn from older kids and vice versa. School is closed in August.
Afternoon Session:
Ages 2 - 4 years, September - July
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 12pm to 3pm
$225 per month
Afternoon Session follows the same basic schedule as the Morning Session. Children in the Afternoon Session are also invited to attend special programs that are held in the mornings.
Toddler Program:
Ages 18 months - 3 years, September - July
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:15pm to 1:45pm
$15 per session
Parents accompany their toddlers to this class where the schedules and activities of the Pre-School programs are gently introduced. play Time, Circle Time, Arts and Crafts, and Snack are all a part of these sessions. A taste of pre-school for pre-pre-schoolers. During the summer, the Toddler program is incorporated into the Morning Session to prepare them for the pre-school program. Toddler parents are not required to participate in co-op work responsibilities.
Field Trips:
Canyon School students go on field trips every month. Past trips include children's theatre, a movie at the El Capitan Theatre, the Hollywood Fire Station and Museum, LACMA, Nature Hike at Franklin Canyon, and the pumpkin patch at Tierra Rejada Farm.
